TRENDS IN BURDEN OF HEART FAILURE MORTALITY IN TURKEY, 2009-2019

Introduction: Heart failure is the third most common cause of death after coronary artery disease and stroke. By monitoring mortality trends heart failure, control over progression can be increased. Therefore, we aimed to create a trend by taking data on deaths due in Turkiye last ten years. Methods: We obtained population estimates for Turkey from TurkStat website. Age- sex-specific age-standardized rates (ASRs, using World standard method direct standardization) were calculated. Mortality assessed Joinpoint regression analysis. Statistical analysis was carried out with software, version 4.9.0.0. considered p values less than 0.05 statistically significant. Results: found Turkey’s 10-year standardized rate 20.63%. The highest western Marmara; lowest one Eastern Karadeniz. observed significant increase at 10 years total population. (p:0,008). detected growth between 2009 2016 (p< 0.001) decrease (p:0.047) Conclusion: patients 2019 according age, sex, showed an overall reduction 2016.
